Per the Redwood Middle School Student Handbook:
Grade Inquiry Communication Protocol
Communication protocol for grade inquiries has been established to help parents to get information, to preserve the time of teachers and parents, and to build responsibility in students. Parents, when you have a question related to grades:Grade Updates
- Discuss the issue with your student.
- Ask your student to talk to the teacher.
- Contact the teacher by email or phone (email is preferred).
- Request a meeting with the teacher.
Online grades will be updated by the 15th and 30th of each month. Assignments will generally be updated within two weeks from when they are collected. Projects or writing assignments may take longer than two weeks to grade and record. Please encourage your student to give teachers at least this much time before they contact them with a grade inquiry.
Grade Notification
A report card is issued and mailed home at the end of each semester. You will also receive progress reports after the first 9 weeks of the semester. These reports indicate the academic grade and conduct mark you have earned in each subject.
If you have questions regarding these assignments, please discuss the matter with your student first. Then have your student speak with me, if further clarification is necessary. If you and your student still have concerns, then feel free to contact me directly via email/phone.
